CSDI has been invited by the Action Foundation CIF (AFCIG) in Bamenda, Cameroon, to attend and participate in the Africa Climate Change Market Place (ACCMP), which is billed to take place between March 8 and 9, 2012, at the British Council Library in Bamenda. This was made possible by the nomination of CSDI by CARE Kenya in the context of the ALP (Adaptation Learning Program) project in Kenya.
The ACCMP is a trade fair of innovative adaptation strategies for climate change by grassroots organisations. In this forum the various organizations are expected to sell the work that they have been doing in this domain to the general public and their peers. Participating organizations shall come from Ghana, Kenya and Cameroon. Each participating organization shall be provided with space where they shall set up their exhibits. Judges, other organizations and the general public shall be free to visit each stand and share. The event shall also include presentations from experts in the domain of climate change. The winning organizations shall be revealed and be presented trophies at the end of the event.
CSDI hopes to share its experiences working on innovative dryland management methods at the fair, and hopes to also learn from other organisations at the meet. We are grateful to CARE Kenya for affording us this opportunity to showcase our work.
